Welcome to Women's Health Issues Online |
ATTENTION: Spring Students -
Access instructions will be sent to your MyCuesta email account a week before your course begins. A copy of the access instructions has been posted under your Cuesta - 'MyCourses' according to your section number.
My name is Sarah Spencer-Guglielmo, and I am the Instructor for the online course at Cuesta College. If you would like to learn more about the course requirements, click on the syllabus link above.
Since this is a short course, it is important to be organized and prepared from the beginning. We will cover a full length semester's material in a VERY SHORT TIME. Be sure to be aware of all due dates and section requirements once the course begins. There is an assignment due almost every week. Here are the scheduled dates for summer and fall 2009:
|
Spring 2010 |
Start Date: January 19th |
|
Summer 2010 |
Start Date: June 14th |
|
This class does not take place in the traditional classroom, so you will need access to your MyCuesta email account and have Internet access. Blackboard Learning system is the host site for your course and can be accessed from the following address: http://cehosting.blackboard.com Access instructions can be found under the 'files' link on your MyCourses page. |
You will need to have a multimedia computer using the most recent version of Microsoft Internet Explorer. To update your browser, please select the following link: Microsoft Internet Explorer. It is not recommended you access the course using your personalized Yahoo, SBC or AT&T browser. These systems modify the browser and sometimes do not work well with the Cuesta or Blackboard site. If you have one of the before mentioned Internet Service Providers, just simply open Internet Explorer when working on the course.
Please make sure you fill out all registration material. If you do not use your MyCuesta email account, then I cannot communicate with you. If I cannot communicate with you, then you will be dropped from the course. If you have any questions, please email me at sgugliel@cuesta.edu.
As stated above, you can expect to hear from me on the first day of the course. Please make sure your email account is ready to receive information from me.
Take care.
Sarah Spencer-Guglielmo
PS - Online classes require just as much time as a traditional class so make sure you are prepared. Check the due dates for assignments and assessments. Make sure your schedule can accommodate the requirements of a short course.
