  • Wages start at $8.00 per hour.

  • Students can work up to 20 hours per week while school is in session.

FWS students may not exceed their work-study award.  If your award is exhausted during the school year, employment will be terminated unless your employer is able to retain you as an employee through department funds.  It is important to keep track of your earnings to insure that you do not work over your work-study award amount and to inform your employer when your hours have been exhausted.

If you have been awarded FWS funds

Review positions available and schedule an appointment with the contact person listed on the form. If you are hired for the position, have your employer complete the paperwork that is on your myCuesta financial Aid Web Site.

As a new employee, you will also need to attend a mandatory Employment Orientation and  fill out employment papers with the Cuesta College Human Resources Office. The San Luis Obispo Campus office is located in the Administration Building, Room 8003.

Timecards will be provided by the Financial Aid Office once your employment papers are completed. Timecards must be submitted to the Financial Aid Office by the last working day of each month.
