To help all students achieve their personal, educational, and vocational goals by promoting the learning strategies and attitudes necessary for academic success.
To encourage independent learning so that students can educate themselves continuously throughout their lifetimes.
To promote student success by sharing knowledge of the learning process with students, faculty, administration, and staff in a collaborative partnership for the enhancement of learning.
To help faculty infuse learning strategies and active learning experiences into their teaching methodologies.
To recognized and respect the diversity within our learning community by providing appropriate and effective academic support.

Courses are offered each semester and are available to all students. Courses include reading, grammar, spelling, math, cyber literacy, test preparation, word processing, study skills, and college success.

An open entry computer, video, and audio-tutorial lab.
Students can work independently on improving skills in grammar, writing, vocabulary, spelling, math, reading, study skills, English as a Second Language, keyboarding, and word processing.
Offers comprehensive assessment of student learning needs, individualized computer-aided instruction in basic skills, supplemental instructional modules for selected courses, and specialized computer-assisted and video-tutorial programs to assess and to improve academic skills in reading, spelling, grammar, writing, vocabulary, mathematics, study skills, and ESL.

These half-unit courses provide specific and focused learning assistance for targeted discipline courses, integrating how-to-learn with what-to learn, thereby increasing student success.

Learning Communities offer an alternative to the traditional individual course approach. They link students, curricula, and faculty from multiple courses into a single "community of learners" for the purposes of providing a broader perspective on a unifying theme and providing a meaningful context for academic learning strategies. By using a theme and incorporating student‑centered approaches, such as active, collaborative, and reflective learning strategies, both instructors and students experience a more coherent and enriched teaching and learning environment.

Workshops are offered each semester and are available to all students. Topics may include time management, memory strategies, textbook reading, note-taking, test taking, math anxiety, and how to be a college student.

Tutorial Services provides free individual and group academic tutoring.
Appointments are available for most subjects. Open Monday through Thursday, 8:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., Closed Fridays.
